JJ Lawson and the Return of the Bears: A Milestone Years in the Making

The JJ Lawson crew had a brilliant day recently supporting Mary’s House Services at their annual Golf Day Fundraiser at Concord Golf Club. The event raised over $50,000 in support of helping women and children escape domestic violence and abuse.

For JJ Lawson, the return of the North Sydney Bears to the NRL is more than the arrival of a new club in Perth. It is the culmination of years of passion, persistence and unwavering belief in one of rugby league’s most iconic clubs.
As a proud Australian family-owned transport, freight forwarding and customs clearance company, JJ Lawson has been a long-time supporter of the North Sydney Bears and an important part of the campaign to see the Bears restored to the NRL. So, to see the famous red and black hoops return to the competition in 2027 is a milestone that means a great deal to the Lawson family and the entire JJ Lawson crew.
A moment we’ll never forget
One of the most special moments in this journey came when Bears legends Greg Florimo and Barry Glasgow stopped by to visit our very own legend and founder Jim Lawson and present him with the Perth Bears 2027 Home Jersey.
For Jim, pulling on that jersey was a moment he had waited many years to experience – and, at times, thought might never happen.
Seeing those unmistakable red and black hoops once again, this time representing the new Perth Bears, was a powerful reminder of just how much the Bears mean to generations of supporters.
It was also a fantastic opportunity to catch up with two Old Bears who have played such an important role in the club’s history.
Thanks, legends!
We were there for the big reveal
The JJ Lawson crew were also proud to be part of the historic reveal of the 2027 Perth Bears Home Jersey in Perth held on Friday 7th August.
Brothers Marty and Greg Lawson made the trip across to Perth to be part of the celebrations and take part in the famous Bear Walk before the NRL game in early August.
It was one of those moments where you could truly say, “we were there.”
Standing alongside fellow Bears supporters from both sides of the country, seeing the new jersey unveiled and feeling the excitement building around the club’s return made it a moment we won’t forget.
Proud to be Bears in Business
Everyone knows we love our Bears, and that passion is now taking us into a new chapter.
JJ Lawson is incredibly proud to be an inaugural Bears in Business Partner of the Perth Bears, supporting the club as it prepares to return to the NRL in 2027.
For a family business that has stood behind the Bears through the highs, the lows and the long road back, seeing the club once again proudly wear the red and black hoops is something truly special.
The Bears are back. The hoops are back. And the Lawson family will be there to support them.
Bring on 2027.
Bring on the return of the Bears. 🐻❤️🖤
